More than half of cannabis consumers in states where it is legal get their supplies from brick-and-mortar dispensaries, with only 6% sourcing their product from dealers, according to a new survey from New Frontier Data. In total, 43% of current consumers opt for dispensaries as their primary source of cannabis, according to the study, with 34% last year. Meanwhile, illegitimate markets are starting to see customers head to out-of-state dispensaries to source cannabis from regulated sources, with 29% of such consumers choosing the dispensary route. The growing normalisation of cannabis means shopping for weed is becoming increasingly comparable to making any other purchase, with convenience and product range at the top of buyers’ considerations.
